The Noritsu QSS printers use a traditional silver halide paper and photo process. The paper they use is the Fuji Crystal Archive Type II (http://www.fujifilmusa.com/shared/bin/AF3-190U_CATypeII.pdf). More on the Noritsu QSS minilabs: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Noritsu

If you print larger than 12×18, the prints will be processed by the Epson InkJet which is not using silver halide processes.

Make sure you check with your local Costco photo lab. Eventhough their equipment seems more or less standardized across North America, their might be some experimental stores running different equipment.

So are the costco prints laserjet prints or silver halide?
